I write last week that I was keen to play a new game and, despite your votes, I plumped for Dishonored 2.

I’m struggling for time, but usually in an evening after dinner and a couple of episodes of whatever series we’re watching (White Collar ATM), I get an hour whilst Fe does something else. I did plump for Dishonored, but after six or seven hours in total I kinda wish I hadn’t. I remember Corvo’s powers being the big lure, but playing as Emily was a big mistake. After inadvertently causing chaos on every level, I binned it off as a bad job.

The problem is, I have 47 games in my cabinet and feel I have nothing to play. Much like when my partner says she has nothing to wear, it seems unfathomable, but such is life. I’m waiting for Thursday, when Watchdogs Legion comes out, so I also tried a bit of Watchdogs 2. I thought maybe the stealthy approach would appeal to me and I could drone my way around San Francisco for a couple of days whilst waiting for London to release. One hour it held me. One hour. Mind you, I have played it through twice, but somehow the mechanics felt clunky compared to newer games and again, my interest didn’t hold.

Am I just easily bored now I’m into my forties?

The only game I do have that I suspect might hold my attention for more than five minutes is the sprawling epic, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Mainly because, despite 100 hours of game time, I still haven’t opened up the map. Can I finally get to Lesbos, and will it look the same as most of the other islands? Maybe, but for the next four days it is going to be my home.

Will I ever reach Lesbos?

I’m killing time really. Even buying Legion on Thursday will be a natural bridge of sorts, ahead of November 10th and the big one: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

I’m going to do an article (when I get time) about my Assassin’s Creed love, something similar to this from a couple of year’s ago, but obviously updated. However, this evening I’ll be trying to get to grips with Alexios and wherever I left the story 18 months ago.

Why am I writing this when I could be gaming? Well, I want to try to expand my site a little bit, give it a proper URL and lazily write up a few bits as a way of honing my skills outside of football (and bingo and boilers). That means more regular content, even if it is as uninspiring and banal as this.

However, do keep an eye out for stuff coming up as I’ll try to dip my toe into gaming, now the nights are drawing in. I imagine getting a bit of time on the controller and therefore some material to work with!

For now, wish me luck in reaching Lesbos, at last.
