I’ve managed to grow a few websites over the years, and some are active right now.
If you’d like to contribute an article to any of them to help build your portfolio, please get in touch. I’d be more than happy to accept submissions.
Here are the sites I currently oversee, and what they’re about.
The Stacey West – staceywest.net
Started in February 2016, the Stacey West sprang up from my personal site, the 40 Something Gamer. it started as a collection of thoughts on Lincoln City, but quickly grew throguh the 2016/17 season.
It has been nominated for a Football Blogging Award on three occasions: 2016, 2018, and 2019. In 2020, it was nominated for a Football Supporters Association award, the biggest honour bestowed upon us to date.
Run by me, a group of talented content creators now help drive the site forward. It features not only written content but a YouTube channel, podcast, and several social media outlets. We average 100,000 views per month on the site, topping 1 million per year for the last six years.
Euro Football News – eurofootballnews.co.uk
Euro Football News is a new site, started in January 2024. This is a long-term project aimed at delivering news and views from across European football At present, it is a project site.
This site is one with a lot of potential once the new season starts up.
A City United – acityunited.wordpress.com
A City United is a dormant website with potential if writers wish to contribute. It covered football from across Lincolnshire and acted as a digital outlet for the magazine, which ran to 12 issues between August 2107 and May 2018.
I’m open to starting this backup and using it as a community hub for sports in Lincolnshire, so if anyone is interested in being a part of that, let me know.
Withcall Village – withcallvillage.co.uk
This is the local website for my village, Withcall, in the Lincolnshire Wolds. I act as a webmaster for it, posting local news and information sporadically.
The Real EFL – therealefl.co.uk (Sold August 2024)
Started in August 2018, the Real EFL is a fast-growing football site backed by a superb team of writers. Averaging around 1 million views per month of late, it is a one-stop shop for news from the Championship to the National League. We engage a team of more than 30 writers on a freelance basis, with a management team of five.
The Real EFL is featured on News Now and has sent journalists to big games, such as the National League play-off final. We’ve also had some big interviews on the site, such as Port Vale manager Andy Crosby, former Manchester United man Lee Sharpe, and one-time World Cup player Frank Sinclair.
